Basic Music Programs for PC for Home Music Making

Music programs for PC are great tools to transform what is in your mind into a piece of music that you and others can listen to over and over again.  Before you begin, you need to ask yourself if music is really your passion.  Ask yourself if you were to make music for the rest of your life, would you be happy?  Can you live without music?  If you are able to transform emotion into sound, then people will love what you make, and the financial rewards are not shabby either.  Now, let’s make this easy and talk about what you need to begin.

Music programs for PC are at a level where they can create music at the quality of major studios.  There is no need to learn piano or guitar.  You can make infinite synthetic sounds from different instruments just with pieces of software.  You can form an entire band yourself from your bedroom.  You can collaborate with others on the internet and use your talents to create something great.  As a basic starting point, understand that most popular music nowadays comprise of 3 components: voice, melody, and the most important: beat. 

Music programs for PC should be relied upon the most for beat creation.  It costs too much to have so many different kinds of drums and other equipment.  Beat, creates rhythm, which is the foundation of ANY music ever.  It is the most crucial.  If the beat is not on par, there is no point in continuing to make the rest of the music.  That’s why there are so many dedicated beat making programs out there.  There are many popular (and expensive) brands like Sonic, Logic, Cakewalk, etc. out there, but DUBTurbo is still by far the easiest to learn for beginners and has the capability to make the most complex beats.  While many major studios rely on their expensive hardware, many of them still use DUBTurbo to complement.

Reason or Logic are great music programs for PC that are basically all-in-ones.  The beat making capabilities, however, are not on par in my opinion.  The rest of the features are great, and they both work seamlessly with DUBTurbo from my experience.  For voice, work with a friend who has a great voice, there is no way around this one.  Before you venture into Reason, Logic, other advanced beat makers, I suggest you familiarize yourself with basic beat making through DUBTurbo.  They also provide TONS of free tutorials when you purchase to make it incredibly easy to learn step by step.
